About Us

Wisekraut started with a simple belief: many of us have lost touch with the plants that once formed part of everyday life.

I grow, forage, and harvest much of what goes into our teas, tinctures, and botanical products myself, from my medicinal garden and our private forest in Skåne, southern Sweden.

Dandelion root is dug in spring and autumn. Calendula is gathered through summer. Leaves, roots, and blossoms are harvested when the season allows.

Nothing here is rushed, because the plants weren’t rushed either.

Why I started this

When our family grew, I found myself turning more deeply toward plants during the vulnerable years of early parenthood. I was looking for simple, trustworthy preparations I could feel comfortable using at home, and when I couldn’t always find them, I began making them myself.

That experience still sits at the heart of Wisekraut: creating thoughtful botanical products I would have wanted for my own family.

What we make

Wisekraut brings together two kinds of products:

Herbal preparations, including teas, tinctures, and oxymels, inspired by traditional herbal practices and made with herbs I grow, forage, or carefully source.

Botanical cosmetics, including balms, lotion butters, and more to come, made with plant-based ingredients and kept intentionally simple.

Everything is made in small batches, with a focus on ingredients that are understandable, purposeful, and close to their natural form.

Because we work with natural, minimally processed ingredients, small variations are part of the process. For us, the integrity of the ingredients matters more than perfect uniformity.

Wisekraut is based in Skåne, southern Sweden, where much of what we make begins with something grown, gathered, or prepared by hand.
